Born in Toronto, Eric Guo started piano at 4 years old. As recipient of David and Renette Berman Scholarships, he’s studying in Artist Diploma Program under Professor John Perry and Dean James Anagnoson after obtaining BMus at The Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory in Toronto. Alumnus of The Royal Conservatory’s Taylor Academy. Previous teachers: Li Wang, John O’Conor, David Louie. His career slightly opened after winning 1st prize at the Chopin Competition on Period Instruments in Warsaw 2023 (with Mazurkas Prize) led to performances at prestigious festivals: Dvorak Prague (Czech), Nohant Chopin (France), Duszniki Chopin (Poland), Chopin and his Europe (Warsaw), Bolzano Festival Bozen (Italy), Golden July Music Festival (Vienna), Frost Chopin (Miami), Rockport Music, Paderewski Festival (Raleigh), etc. His competition CD was released by Chopin Institute during his recitals on Chopin’s 214th birthday in Żelazowa Wola and Warsaw Philharmonic, and broadcasted on CBC and Radio-Canada’s 175th anniversary of Chopin’s death.
