Jerry Hu is a nineteen year old pianist from Saskatoon. He studies with John O’Conor and Michael Berkovsky at the Glenn Gould School of Music and previously studied with Bonnie Nicholson.
Jerry represented Saskatchewan in the FCMF National Competition (2019), receiving Second Place in the Piano Category. In November of 2021, Jerry performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto in C minor in his orchestral debut with the SSO, conducted by Nicholas Ellis, and performed with the RSO as well in March of 2023. In 2022, Jerry gave 7 recitals across Saskatchewan and Manitoba as part of the CMFTA Young Artist Tour series. Jerry was the winner of the 17-year-old piano category at the CMC competition in 2023.
In January 2024, Jerry was a finalist in The Glenn Gould School’s Robert W. and G. Ann Corcoran Concerto Competition. He will perform Chopin’s Piano Concerto in E minor with the RCO in February and the SSO in May.
