Anna-Lucia Shevchenko is a Ukrainian-Canadian classical pianist who already at the beginning of her musical development was hailed as a “completely mesmerizing performer” having “great confidence and artistic maturity”, “very colourful expression… depth and candor”, whose playing is “both virtuosic and soulfully musical” while “connecting very deeply with the music and the instrument” (National CMC, 2020).
She started playing the piano aged 10 under the direction of Yaroslava Shevchenko. She gave her first full solo recital at the age of 11 and continues to actively perform with solo recitals and as a guest artist at numerous music concerts, festivals, and events.
Anna-Lucia has received guidance from such outstanding mentors as André Laplante, John Perry, Alexander Tselyakov, Milana Chernyavska, and Maxim Lando.
Anna-Lucia demonstrated excellence in her piano performance and got numerous 1st Prizes and awards in local, Provincial, and National competitions including University of Manitoba Concerto Competition (2020), ‘’Juries' Favourite Instrumentalist’’ award - National CMC (2020), Winner of 10 Piano classes – Winnipeg Music Festival (2021), Winner of Provincial piano competitions, Winner of MRMTA Performance Scholarship competitions, Awards for Most Outstanding Results for RCM Piano Exams and The Most Outstanding Piano Performance of a work by a Romantic Composer, Canadian Western Young Artist Tour Competition – 2024, Virtuosi Concert’s Young Artist -2024 etc.
Internationally, she was awarded “Exceptional Young Talent”, ‘’Future Prize’’, received Special Prizes for “Best S. Rachmaninoff Performance”, “Best J.S. Bach”, and ‘’Career Project’’ Award in addition to winning many international competitions. Most recent 2024 wins include 1st Prizes at Chopin Avenue IPC, AADGT ‘’Passion of Music’’ IMF, 4th Franz Liszt Center IPC, Orbetello IPC, Swiss IMC, Gustav Mahler Prize IPC, Basel IPC, 5th Vienna Classical IMC.
Anna-Lucia was invited to participate in several concerts in the world’s most prestigious concert halls in Europe and the USA, including Carnegie Hall.
