Barron Jiyu Jiang is in Grade 10 of École international de Montréal. He began to play piano at the age of 4.5, and made his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 7. In 2017, he became the youngest student in Professor Richard Raymond’s studio in Montreal Conservatory of Music. He has been studying piano with Mr. Raymond since then.
Barron started entering competitions when he was 6 years old. He is a consistent prize winner and scholarship recipient in national ,provincial and local music competitions. Such as: first place of 15-17 years old in Omni Orchestra Metropolitan Competition 2024, and Second prize of 13 years old in 2023 Canadian Music Competition.
Besides the piano, he played defense in Hockey Montréal Élite from September, 2019 to April,2024. Barron is a chess expert, a competitive swimmer in CSLA and a certified ski instructor.
