Ethan Wang, 9 years old, began piano lessons at the age of four and has maintained a daily practice regimen ever since. He is currently studying under Professor Marilyn Engle, having previously been instructed by Dr. Lana Henchell for nearly two years. Ethan’s exceptional talent has garnered recognition on both national and international stages.

Ethan’s achievements include:

National 1st and 2nd places in every Canadian Music Competition (CMC) during the three consecutive years he participated.
1st place in the 13 years & under piano solo class at Canada West Performing Arts Festival at age seven competing against winners selected from Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan’s provincial performing arts festivals.
Absolute First Prize in the 6-8 year category from the 3rd Great Piano Masters Competition.
Gold Prize at the 4th Vienna International Music Competition.

Noteworthy Performances:
Performed a 25-minute solo program in the Rising Stars Concert at ArtsPlace Canmore.
Made his orchestra debut in 2024, playing the 1st movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 11 with the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra.
Featured in the final winner’s concert of the Calgary Performing Arts Festival at Bella Concert Hall and the final concert of the Calgary Contemporary Showcase.
Inspired by his idol, Arthur Rubinstein, Ethan aspires to perform in concert halls worldwide. In addition to his passion for piano, Ethan enjoys reading, mathematics, chess, and badminton.
