Leah Sun
Junior Division
Polonaise in C sharp minor, op. 26, no. 1
Hello, I’m Leah Sun from Edmonton, Canada My musical journey began at the age of six, and it has since become a central part of my life. I am honored to have received the highest mark in Canada for Level 8 piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music as
well as participating in multiple EMSAF (Edmonton Music & Speech Arts Festival) classes, receiving multiple scholarships along the way. Additionally, I have been a national finalist at the Canadian Music Competition (CMC), where I had the opportunity to further develop my skills and engage with other talented musicians.
Currently, I am preparing for the Canadian Chopin Competition. This upcoming event is an exciting opportunity for me to explore Chopin’s repertoire in depth and present my
interpretations. I am dedicated to delivering a performance that reflects both technical skill and emotional insight.
Outside of my musical pursuits, I am a competitive swimmer with the Olympian Swim Club. Balancing the demands of swimming with my piano studies has taught me valuable lessons in discipline and time management. The focus and dedication required in both fields have been instrumental in my development as a musician and an athlete. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to participate
in and contribute to this prestigious competition.
