Born in China in 2013, Rui showed her innate musicality at the very early age. She began her piano studies at age 6, with one of renowned Montreal pianist, Dr.Jean Fabien Schneider, who inspired her enthusiasm for music and guided her to the professional musical journey. Motivated by her strong interest to the piano and her fast self-study ability, Rui was admitted to study at Conservatoire de Musique du Quebec at age 9.

Rui won the 1st place at 2021 Little Mozart Competition ( Virtual, 2021); Finalist of the Canadian Music Competition ( Quebec City, 2022 June & Toronto, 2023 June ) ; Laureate of the 1st award and Grand Champion Junior Trophy of the 2023 Montreal Classical Music Festival ( Montreal, 2023 June). 1st award of Concerto in the 7-12 age category of the 2024 Montreal Classical Music Festival ( Montreal, 2024 June); Laureate of Grand Prix in the 10-14 age category of the Concours de la Capitale, one of the most prestigious competitions in Quebec ( Quebec City, 2024 May).
