Born in Beijing, Shiyun Qiu started playing the piano when she was 6 years old and moved to Canada with her family when she was 14. She is currently a second-year student at The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists under Jeanie Chung and also studies privately with Che-Lun Hsu.
