Born in Shanghai, China, YueYao Chen currently resides in Markham, Toronto. She began piano at the age of four, and singing at five. She joined the San Francisco Conservatory of Music pre-college program when she was nine, and studied with Heidi Hau. At eleven, she moved to Toronto, where she currently studies with Alexander Panizza.
