Recently laureate of the 2nd prize at the 111th edition of the Prix d'Europe and figuring in CBC Music's 2023 30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30, Zhan Hong Xiao has studied at the Conservatoire de Montréal with Richard Raymond and at the Montreal University with Charles Richard-Hamelin and Henry Kramer.
Winner of numerous prizes and scholarships, he has notably, on the national level, placed 2nd at the 2015 CFMTA Competition in Vancouver and 3rd at the 2018 Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition.
On the international stage, he has taken part in competitions in Spain, Poland and Italy.
As a soloist, he has appeared in major Montreal venues such as the Salle Bourgie with the Orchestre Classique de Montréal and the Maison Symphonique, accompanied by the Orchestre Métropolitain.
